Timothy G. Biro
Mr. Biro is General Partner of Reservoir Ventures Partners. Mr. Biro has over 12 years of venture capital experience in Ohio. Before founding the Ohio Innovation Fund in 1997, he served for five years as a Partner with another Ohio-based fund. Prior to his career in venture capital, Tim was with Merck & Co., holding management positions in Operations Management where he most recently served as superintendent of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. Prior to Merck, he worked in cancer research at Hershey Medical Center and in business planning in the Chemical Products Group of FMC Corporation.
Felix I. Feldchtein, Ph.D.
Dr. Feldchtein is one of the creators of the first optical coherence tomography device in the former Soviet Union and one of the original founders of Imalux (initially Optical Coherence Technologies Inc.). He has contributed to over 60 scientific publications and holds multiple patents. Dr. Feldchtein is the laureate of 1999 Russian State Prize in Science and Technology for work in optical coherence tomography.
James D. Ireland, III
Mr. Ireland is Managing Director of Early Stage Partners. Mr. Ireland has twenty-five years of public and private company venture investment and Wall Street investment banking experience, including start-up and early stage investment and roles in management and on boards.
Trevor O. Jones
Mr. Jones is the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of ElectroSonics Medical, a company formed after his previous venture, Biomec, was acquired by Greatbatch of New York. During his distinguished career of over 45 years as an industrial executive and as an innovative engineer, he has received 15 patents and has published numerous award winning scientific papers. In June 2004, Mr. Jones was named Entrepreneur of the Year for Innovation by Ernst and Young. In the past, Mr. Jones has been responsible for starting greenfield product development organizations in the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom while working for General Motors Corporation and TRW, Inc. During his career, Mr. Jones has been responsible for major programs in the Nuclear, Defense, Aerospace, and Automotive industries. Mr. Jones has formed and has been the chairman of many small to medium-sized industrial joint ventures and Chairman and CEO of large companies, such as Libbey-Owens-Ford Co. and Echlin, Inc., with annual sales of $1 to over $3 billion. Mr. Jones is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Life Fellow of IEEE, a fellow of IEE (UK), an Honorary Fellow of IMechE (UK), a Professional Engineer (PE) and a Chartered Engineer in the UK.
Jonathan P. Murray
Mr. Murray is Managing Director of Early Stage Partners, where he shares responsibility for evaluating and managing investments in early stage life science and information technology companies. He has served as President of Volk Optical and Director of Marketing for Spectra Laboratories.
Alexander Sergeev, Ph.D., Dr.Sc.
Professor Sergeev is a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Director of the Division for Lasers and Nonlinear Optics at the Institute of Applied Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The division focuses on experimental and theoretical investigation lasers, nonlinear optics, generation of super-strong electromagnetic fields, laser-matter interaction, spectroscopy, and biomedical optics, including optical coherence tomography.
Professor Sergeev is a winner of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in Science and Technology. He has also contributed to more than 130 scientific publications and several patents. He is one of the original founders of Imalux.
Joseph G. Teague
Mr. Teague is currently Chairman of the Midwest Tooling Group. He is the former President, CEO, and one of the Founders of Lasertrak Corporation, as well as the former President of Technicare Corporation. As President of Technicare (formerly known as Ohio-Nuclear), Mr. Teague directed the business from a $3 million, 60-employee company to a $550 million, 4,400-employee company producing CT scanners, NMR imaging systems, digital X-ray and nuclear imaging equipment. Mr. Teague also serves on the Board of several companies in Northeast Ohio including Polychem, and NeoMed Technologies, Inc., and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Golden Age Centers of Greater Cleveland and is a member of the Board of Trustees of HealthSpace Cleveland.
